Tower braces question

Are strut tower braces with hinges better than those without? I always thought that the hinges would allow more flex than those without.

However, I noticed, most OEM braces have no hinges, while aftermarket, even custom built ones, all have them...

Which is better?

No hinges, for obvious reasons (which you stated). The ones with hinges in racing applications are like that for quick removal in case of emergency repair, etc.

Here's my bar, I love it:

Hingeless is always the way to go if you can afford it.

Hinges just seem counter productive to me.
