I guess whatever makes you happy, do it. Even if that involves spending insane amounts of money to boost your damaged ego by impressing leagues of 16 year olds on web forums and car shows, do it. Why else would you modify the exterior of a car? To look good from the outside, i.e. getting the positive attention of whoever happens to be looking. I can't see my exterior while I'm driving, and I'm not sitting there looking at the car when I'm not driving.

I only make the exterior look nice just for the camera, but for real, I like to keep the exterior as subtle as possible, that way you won't catch attention to the wrong people, more perfomance mods for me

i dont even think its about ego, its just a hobby, they have the money, they are into cars, so they spend their money accordingly.
i really dont understand where you are comming from, most ppl on this fourm mod something of the exterior of their car, these guys just have more money to do so them selves.

I've always loved sleepers. I think that's what Jay is trying to say...
Face it, your favourite car is a CL600...you obviously think different.
Why not convert your car to stock 3-series? I'm sure there'd be plenty of people willing to trade with you + cash.. hehe

for the start this post is rediculas i mean i agree with what most people are saying porsche was built to be run hard and driven hard thus the big breaks and fast drivetrain. but interior sure its a little much oh well. but for the factor that i am a young guy only 20 and i work for everything i have and these guys just bust out there flashy cell fone with all the doo dads on em call up daddy hey man i want this car please buy it for me its only 30-40 grand or more chump change to you daddy. BANG its yours that is what ergs me the most. no respect will be given to those guys on the street from a true real tuner
