Cops went nuts looking for racers

I found this story on k5.

Houston cops raided a Kmart parking lot looking for street racers, when they didn't find any the arrested everyone in sight, 425 in all.
In a follow up even some of the cops said the whole thing was a waste.

Can police here do something like this for just gathering at a mall?

no, they can do **** all, there is no illegal action, worst they can do is fine u with trespassing, there is no illegal shit in the car, no weed, no booze, only nos and tubro's, they cant do shit. just a pathetic way for the cops to nab people cause they know people who actually street race know where to do it and dont get caught. so they assume were gonna go somewhere

Assumption is the mother of all f**k ups! One day cops will mess with the wrong person and get a huge harassment case going! I wish they would start harassing the guilty parties and leave the inoccent alone. Besides if you know you are right you should stand up and demand your rights, but just do it the right way.
