Lets Take A Stand!!!!!!!

Subject: Gasoline Prices - PLEASE READ & FORWARD

Having some control over gas prices...

I hear we are going to hit close to $1.00 a liter by the summer.

Want gasoline prices to come down?

We need to take some intelligent, united action. Phillip Hollsworth,

offered

this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a
certain day" campaign tha was going around last April or May! The oil
companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to
"hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an inconvenience
to
us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has
come up with a plan that can really work. Please read it and join with
us!
By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about 69.9 cents a
litre
is super cheap. Me too! It is currently 76.9 for regular unleaded in my
town. Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us
to
think that the cost of a Litre of gas is CHEAP

at 69.9,

we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the
marketplace....not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to
take
action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if
we
hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing THEIR gas! And we can do
that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. How? Since we all rely on our cars, we
can't
just stop buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices. If we all
act
together to force a price war. Here's the idea: For the rest of this
year,
DON"T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are
PETRO CANADA & SHELL). If they are not selling any gas, they will be
inclined to reduce their prices. If they

reduce their prices,

the other companies will have to follow suit.

But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions

of Shell and Petro Canada gas buyers.

It's really simple to do!! Now, don't wimp out on me at

this point...keep reading and I'll

explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!

I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you sends it to
at
least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten
more
(300 x 10 = 3,000). and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth
generation of

people,

we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers!

If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each,
then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level
further you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all
you
have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all. How

long would all that take!

If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day

of receipt, all

300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8

days!!!

I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you?
Acting
together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to

you, please pass this message on.

PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES

AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

YOU KNOW THEY LOVE HOLIDAYS AND SUMMER TRAVELERS.

You knwo what, this sounds like a good idea, but its not gonna work, it never does, and what happens when SUNOCO prices are the highest, i need my ULTRA 94, i can't stop buying from them!

Besides, i think INSURANCE is a bigger issue than gas prices, we should take a stand against that, gas prices in euope are even more priceier, but they also have better quality gas!
So i really don't mind paying the extra prices, just want the better gas at least!

ECHO, this isn't a bad idea, but like i said, its not gonna be easy, because a lot of people fill up on certain gas, cause of problems they've had with other gas companies!

For exampl, since i've purchased my car, i've filled only esso and sunnoco 91+ octane, and then once i purchased my chip, i've only filled in 94 octance, and a while back i decided i'd switch to shell, just to see what the big hype was about the 91 gas they had, and it faked up my fuel guage, so now the only company i fill up on is SUNOC's ULTRA 94, and i don't care what the price is. Don't get me wrong, last winter i filled up once when the price for 94 was $.99/L and it sucked, but hey, i just had to!

What i'm trying to say is, the first part of this plan is no problem for me, cause i would NEVER buy SHELL gas anyways, and i refuse to buy from a canadian GAS company, hehe. But for the people that are the opposite of me, they will redfuse to fill up on shell, and i dunno how well this plan will do!

Also, Echo, i'm gonna start another Insurance Thread, check it out!

Why do ppl even waste their time with these stupid ass emails n forwards you know they dont work n you know the petro companys don't give a fv
Remember
- The gas price is made up of approx 30-45 cents of tax per litre.......this is much needed tax revenue

-I'm willing to bet that these companies are wealthy enough to hold out and take a loss for an extended period of time, and I'm also willing to bet that they would be prepared to do this
so in the end the boycott gets ppl no where, except Canadians lose once again because they boycott a Canadian MNC like Petro Canada....

-your pissed about gas prices? So am I
If it's such an issue to you than get an economy car, we're all driving hybird cars sooner or later anyways.....

Petro and Shell sucks anyways. Sunoco all the way!!!!!!!!!!

PS. BTW I suggest you just write in bold letters "DONT BUY FROM PETRO CANADA AND SHELL" or something cause not a lot of people will bother to read all that

If you want to show the gas companies a message. Buy a Prius...and encourace all your friends to buy one.

They drive just like normal cars- and have AMAZING torque...and they are a wicked discussion piece everywhere. It's also funny how you can hear yourself breathe when you stop at a light because the engine shuts down.

But it would all be useless if insurance on a Prius is $5000

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt the barrel price for oil coming from OPEC staying relatively the same but the increase in our prices is on the gas companies/somewhat tax side?
