Nope, 18's are a pretty normal size nowadays for the e36, just make sure you don't get too wide of a rim/tire, and a proper offset and you'll have no issues.
Even 19's fit the e36 fairly well

I had to get my rear wells rolled to fit my 18x8.5's but other than that they're fine.

whats a good offset for 97 m3 because i want to get 18' deep dish rims, cause my 17's moda R-6 rims need to be changed because im not feelin them anymore.

The offset depends on how wide the rim is. 38-40mm is a good offset for an 8" rim.
