a similar test was done before, without ACS version though.

I dont believe this at all
even though M3CSL wasnt supposed to be much fastesr than regular m3, but i think it should be better than those numbers.
CLS was built for the track, thats where they should've been tested.

meh, that doesnt surprise me at all.
IMHO, very few BMWs are WORTH the money you pay for them.

maybe not anymore, but you cant deny that in the 80s and early 90s they definately were

Uhhh,theres more to a car then quarter mile times and 0-60 times.The CSL was built for the track,theres a video of a CSL vs a stock M3 on the track and the CSL gives it a pounding.Im sorry but if all you worry about is 0-60 times then get a LS1 firebird,supercharge it and strap on nitrous.

am i the only person who sees the problem here. i watched a video saying that the m3 csl has some sort of slicks on it and is no good in the rain and yet again they test it in the rain like mmon ppl. i would imagine it would smoke all with dry pavement

BUahaha that's so true, i heard that too that CSL has some kind of slicks, wahaha you have to be a moron to test CSL with slicks on rainy road hahaha!

one thing I am VERY curious about, is the engine sorted out reliability wise in the CSL? and what was the problem on the NOV 2001's ? I've never heard a clear explanation

performance is one thing, but being able to afford a limited production car is another, that's why people would buy the CSL, people have too much money anyways, they don't care how fast it goes, it's all about the bling factor

No doubt the CSL is a very nice car, with some special parts that you'd never be able to duplicate starting with standard E46 M3. However, for my hard earned cash I'd buy a Porsche GT3

I am sure people will bring up the fact that the CSL has bested GT3 lap times in a couple of tests, but it is important to note that the GT3 is on street tires and the CSL is on CUP Sport R compounds!

I'd be happy to own either of them

Yeah in TopGear about CSL they said M3 got slicks and that BMW makes people sign paper that the car has slicks and they won't be any good in rain, cold weather + snow, but who would want to take it out in snow anyway?
