You're suggesting the springs provide more resistance than the shocks? I thought it was the other way around.
Bounce test: Push down really hard and fast on the car to compress the suspension, then let go. If your suspension is toast, it'll bounce up and down a few times when you let go. It's just a test. Only your ass can tell you if it's a comfortable ride.
BTW, what lowering springs did you get for the IX and where did you buy them?

Put it like this, without shocks your car would continue to bounce up and down after going on a dip or a bump.Springs must jounce and rebound (compress and extend) as a car goes over a bump or dip, springs basically support the weight of a vechile.Alot of people confuse shocks with springs...

jello_g: i didnt get any yet, but i found some h&r's.. they say it lowers it 1.3 in the front and 1.2 in the rear and it came out to 300 usd with shipping
vadim: i see what ur saying now, though still i think it wont be so bad, because again im not looking to slam the car, i just want it to look normal and not have that huge fender gap, so even it its a bit with the new springs, it still wouldnt be any worse than stock. no?
and bmxer, how long have you been riding on the stock shocks? (i mean since you put sport springs?)

It'll work, but your just gonna have a harsh ride and your gonna wear out your suspension faster.Might as well just cut your springs.I would say just wait a little and save up for spring/shocks combo, you'll be on the safe side that way.

I could fit my fist in my wheel gap. My rear shocks have been in there for about 8 months or so.

It doesn't matter how much lower or stiffer the springs are, you should get new shocks anyways.

True. Its also true that I do not know what I have back there. Maybe Blistein sports made there way into the back some how.
Either way I would definatly not have stock shocks up front with lowering springs.

the car bounces because the shocks is too long and the spring is short

Do not do the springs without the shocks, the ride is awful and your shocks will be shot in no time.
