1984 733i

One of my guys at work is lookin to sell his 7er, he said he'll give it too me for $500. It has no rust anywhere, all the electronics in the car work excellent, very very smooth shifting, very very well taken care of. Heres the kicker, the damn thing has over 360,000kms on it,HA! But irregardless, it would just be a car for me to kinda tincker around with, not really take too seriously, maybe make it a project..... doesn't really need much though, he just replaced the head on it, and it pulls strong and hard, really good hiway cruiser, what do you guys think?

for 500 cant really go wrong if you have the cash... it'll probably still be good a couple of years if it was well taken care of, and you can just use it as a beater or daily driver while ur other car's in the shop or w/e

Damn if possible i would buy it immediately And make it a project car.. Here in the Netherlands if the car is older then 25 years you can drive it tax free.. so the project takes 5 years, build a LPG tank in it (Natural Gas) and you almost drive it for free!

Those cars don't have a good rep in affordable upkeep and maintenance.

Price of the car's a good indication of its value.

I wouldn't touch that car with a pole

for 500$ id grab it in a second. its got the same engine as my old 533i, and i cant say anything but good things about the 3.2/3.5. those cars, just like all early e28;s are known for electrical issues, and gremlins that u can never quite figure out.. id say go for it, and with the fact that everything works, and the car's gott a new head, it only sweetens the deal.
if i were you, id get rid of the diving board immediately, shave all the whole left, and drop it on some 15 inch rims, oooo say the ACS replicA rims im selling maybe?

Yeah, I bought it. And I don't regret it at all, its a solid car, pulls REAL strong, and everything works, even the AC. I like it..... too bad you can't get body kits for it... I'd love to do up an old 7er.

Id buy it... but ive got already... 2 for parts and 1 that i drive... its an 84' E23 as well. Ive got almost 300 XXX on mine and she runs great... we did do an engine swap from one of my other ones.. As long as you do the right maintenance.. the car and engine is bullitproof. my opinion i say buy it.
