OEM Block Heater location?

Where do I find this. I remember reading some BMW literature when I got my car that all Canadian BMW's have block heaters installed from the factory.

Anyone found theirs? Specifically on 318's?

Not true. I'm in Edmonton here and most of the certified pre-owned have no block heater, including my car. A guy we know who bought a new X5 4.4 didn't get a block heater either.

If there is a block heater, the plug in head should be tied down somewhere usually behind the lights near the front of the hood?

Exuse my stupidity but what the hell is a block heater? Someone in another thread a few weeks ago were talking about it and I was completely puzzled as to what a block heater is.

it's a electric plug in for your car so that if it gets cold outside, you can plug it into a outlet and keep it warmer than if you didn't have one. prevents your car from freezing.
