Will M3 cams work in my car??

Okay I have a 1998 323is (2.5L vanos) and I want to know if M3 cams will work/make a difference in power in my car. I know this is a great mod for 325's and 328's but not too many people have my car and I have yet to meet anyone that has done it to a 323 (E36 that is). Also, will I need software to run the cams as well if they fit? I have dinan stage I software right now so will I have to have that changed? Thanks!
