e30 drop-top vs. hard top

im gettin another e30 this summer, but im having a hard time deciding wether i want a hard top like i have now, or get a convertible. so ive got some questions.

so, sopposedly frames on drop-top cars are not sopposed to be very rigid, compared to a normal hard-top car. is this true with the e30?

the rear window on the convertible. is it glass or plastic that will yellow?

E30 cabrios rattle like a mofo, they lack quite a bit of structural rigidity. If it's a sporting car you're looking for, getting a drop-top is like putting on boots for a marathon. It's heavier, weaker, and to add to the pain, needs specific suspension parts. And the rear window is plastic.

Then again, there is nothing quite like the open air. It's a tradeoff, choose which way you swing.

damn. since im definetly going to be auto-Xing, looks like hard tops the way to go... thanx

Also keep in mind that some tracks do not even allow convertibles on without a fixed cage. Although you may only plan to auto-x, this could be a huge setback if you ever move on to the road course.
