Unhappy A/C Problem......Help Plz

hi,

i got a problem hapnin with my e36 318is, wheneva i put the a/c on (in hot weather) this loud whhhrrr sound comes from the engine, but only when the car is idling. ie it stops once i start moving. whats the problem?

waddya mean by fan?? the thing that got me worried was that it only happened when the car was idling(stopped at intersections)....

i dont think thats a problem, turning on the ac takes some power from the engine no?

i agree sebster,i too dont think its a problem......it just shows your A/C is working.
