Well, lets see, a turbo requires a lot more plumbing, and uh, lets face it, it's not exactly CHEAP to buy new exhaust manifolds.

Big roots style superchargers can walk all over turbochargers (even high boost ones), however most of us don't run Racegas all day long and feel like running 36lbs of boost on 426Ci Hemi Mopar Blocks, or 427 Big Block Chevys. Most of us also can't afford the up to $50,000 that one of those blowers cost

Superchargers are better for flatter curves. Turbos are almost always more exponential. Also blowers are not variable boost like turbos are (with boost controllers).

It's really a matter of what you want. For city driving, if you don't do your own work, a supercharger is a great option, if you want a track car, mildly build your engine and reduce compression (believe it or not, compression really doesn't make huge power differences), and slap a hybrid turbo on it.
