am i in the wrong section?!! off-topic or photography?!! i don't know!!
i have a digital camera, it's 2.1mp, it has a shutter speed of 1/15 to 1/4000 second. i can't figure out a way to manually change the shutter speed, it's fully automatic, I think!! .. but it has a night mode, which is a 1 second exposure, can i use the night mode to fool the camera and change the shutter speed?? what would the shutter speed be then if i put it on night mode?!

Not sure if all cameras have auto and manual mode, mine does and you can switch from one to another with a "set" button. Which camera do you have? Maybe another member may have the same one. The operating manual doesn't mention that?

no the manual doesn't mention anything other than the night mode, it's a Mustek mini-dv camera, it's not a pro-digicam!!!

I'm surprised you're not getting any help on this. Maybe try calling their customer support ? Maybe because it's a mini-DV, that those options are limited.

Take a photography course at a local school. You'll learn way more in a few hours with the help of a teacher vs. what you'll read on the net especially if you don't know what you're looking for. Some of the larger photo stores hold seminars from time to time; you may want to inquire there as well. Good luck!
It's a great idea you want to expand your knowledge. Remember this: the photographer makes the picture, the camera is simply his tool.
