who's got their e36 sharked ?

I'm thinking of getting it for my '98 328iS.

For those who's had/have experienced it, do you feel that you got your money's worth? Would I have to get a performance exhaust to get the full potential of the Shark?

I'm thinking of doing it as my first engine mod, or should I wait till later? Any feedback is greatly apprecciated.

on ODBII car you don't change chips, you reprogram the chip.
ppl call it sharking cause the device that does it called Shark Injector.

Shark injector

I haven't bought a Shark yet, however, I do have the diagnostic scanner/reset tool. Works well. Anyone know if you can upgrade more than one car with the Shark? If that's the case, we should get together and buy one.

Shark injector

That's what I suspected, regarding the VIN number that is. Has anyone actually tried reprogramming another car? What does the unit do when you try?

i bought one almost two months ago but i didn't install/download it yet into the car. it's right here next to me under the computer. i still want to go to a track and do some 1/4 mile runs kinda "before" and install the shark and go again to the track "after" and see if it did bring anything. and i don't have the battery charger either.

anyways i heard from some people that it didn't bting much if anything just takes the top speed limiter off and raises the rev limiter. they do claim that it brings 10-15 hp and torque as well but no ide if u can feel it.

Shark injector

The Shark doesn't do a whole lot, unless you start doing other things, such as cold-air induction improvements, and exhaust flow with good headers like Supersprint, etc. The 2.8's and 3.2's breath well in the top end, so it helps to raise the rev limiter up, and as for the top-speed limiter, well no one needs that. The easy way to make power is to drop in a supercharger or turbocharger kit. The supercharger kit is pretty straight-forward to do, and will run about $8-9K Canadian. It'll make 355hp from a 3.2L U.S. M3 engine.

I got the Dinan upgrade (i guess shark) done to my car today. Automatic 1998 328i and it has made a difference off the go. Lots more torque. But it is still kind of less that what i had expected. Once the transmission learns the driving patterns hopefully it will improve.
