Muffler Question

I have a '95 325ic, would a muffler from a e36 M3 fit on my car? Would i gain any performance from just a muffler?
my friend is selling the M3 muffler for only $100!
Please let me know soon

In my opinion, I don't think you gain any, it's a psychological thing. Your money is better spent on a newer exhaust system which is lighter overall (reduce unsprung weight) and has a better finish to it with improved sound.

how is the exhaust system an unsprung mass? .. they would be the wheels and brakes.

so in basic terms the M3 muffler is not worth the $100...


how much would it cost for a muffler or the whole exhaust system of which you speak of?

Do you guys have to have cat converters? .. If not.. from the manifold back a custom system is around $800 kiwi dollars.. thats around $450 US.
