I agree, after intake, chip, TB, exhaust if you don't notice any difference, either your butt dyno isn't working properly, or you've done something seriously wrong (exhaust pipe too large, muffler too much or too little back pressure, intake sucking in hot air, TB plate size too large, crappy chip brand or your engine isn't up to spec.) Don't expect too much from automatics since most HP and TRQ gains are at higher RPM's. Automatic's tend to shift even before peak TRQ or HP is made.

Bimmers are already tuned fromt the factory.. most poeple don't belive this because domestic cars are so de-tuned from the factory (they are designed for "fuel economy") performance parts work well on them... BMW's already have performance parts in them. the exhaust, chip, intake, intake manifold, cams, ect. they are all designed to give you 80-90% of the potential power of the engine. Unless you find a major flaw in the equipment your car has, then change it. but otherwise your just wasting your money.

This being said i've spent gobs of money tweaking my car for an extra 10%! i think i've gain maybe 7%, but i've had fun doing it.
