I am going to be removing my entire stock exhaust (cat+muffler) in the near future (by end of August) and replacing it with a custom aftermarket system. The muffler itself is very quiet. It is a dual pipe exhaust from a 325is so I'm not sure if it will work on the 318. I am going to be letting it go for a cheap price so let me know if you're interested.

If you keep your stock resinators and cats it will be quiet. $100 takes it.

I have a costom made mandril bent single 2.25" pipe to go from your header all the way back. its quiet and fits very nicely. only been used for 6,000 km's. Dynomax turbo muffler, aftermarket resinator and new cat. it's very well built from Eclipse motorsports.
$600 takes it home

it shouldn't cost very much to install.. but you will have to take a saws-all or grinder to the rear valance to allow the dual tips to fit.. the 318's have only an opening for a single tip muffler. had to do this to my rear valance to fit my old remus muffler, did it myself.
