Alternator. Baby Died

Comming home from the Iceland park my batt light was on very dimley.

Im like thats odd.

No sooner did I think that then my stereo kept cutting in and out and I could never turn it off because it would turn back off.

Gauges next. Dieing.

Turned headlights off.

All of a sudden I have no power.

Stop at a light Oil light comes on. Um...?

Try to start. No dice. ****ED.

I need an alternator. Problem is I cannot drive anywere to get it fixed. I also don't have that much money right now.

Call Canadian Tire for a remanufactured unit but please don't let them install it!

Look in the phone book for automotive electrical shops. I just did a search on www.411.ca and came up with this (click on the link and then click on the find button).

This week...........all on consecutive days:

blew my battery, alternator blew next day, got new alternator (rebuilt) and than snapped the power steering and alternator belt

\lesson learned, only buy original BMW parts.........the alternator is a rebult but its not the original and the snapped belt was from crappy tire

I just fixed my car. Got a 325is Alternator and dropped it in. Good to go.

System hits again lol

hehehehe, yup well as luck would have it, as soon as something on my car magically fixes itself (or decides to go away for a lil while) like the gas guage for example my batter AND/OR alternator decide to give on me!
So i gotta check which on it is cause as i was drivin home on the highway my cluster started choking and flashing and i had to drive home without ANY lights on to conserve!!
made it home (THANK GOD) and just curious, if i need to how much will an ALT. run me!?

well then thats not too BAD, but i was just thinking............ my alternator light never did turn on!!!
So would it be the alternator, or is it just the battery!?!
