California M5 coming along
Bought like this:
Installed:
1. Vorsteiner rear diffuser
2. Black grilles
3. Wheels
4. Euro first aid kid
5. Euro tilt/slide arm rest
Waiting in the garage:
1. BC Coilovers
2. Stoptech BBK
3. Front lip
4. AA intakes
5. Dinan strut bar
Now a new toy is thrown into the mix which is also awaiting some mods (2006 Ducati SC1000)
And my long term toy should be here next week
If I only didn't work such long hours..

I wonder how tricky was it to import a Canadian car into California? Is it plated with Cali plates?

I think he meant the e28, that was imported, and being 20+ yrs I think it's easier.

Ahh, that makes more sense. I read the title and forgot there were other cars, lol.
I think it would be significantly easier to import an older vehicle like an E28 - kind of similar to how it's easier to import a 15yr or older vehicle for Canadians - curious on the specifics, though.

The US 25 year rule doesn't apply in California. Unless the car is built pre 1968 it has to pass the full EPA/CARB test to be importable to California.
To do the above it has to have full CARB compliant emissions equipment.
The above test includes cold start emissions and is hard to pass at almost $3000 per test. You fail. Retest is another $3000.
The state of California HATES cars!!

Which is an absolute tragedy considering how gorgeous a state it is for driving.

The E28 is here with me and I do enjoy driving it on the aweosme roads in this area. Within 30 min of me are some awesome roads that are EMPTY on weekend mornings.
