215/40 will be a little less stretched, and safer. 225/40 doesn't exist unfortunately.

Im gonna go with 205/40 front and 215/40 rear. Just to be sure, i will be fine with a 10mm spacer on the front, which will have a 17x8.5 +30? It seems like id need a larger spacer where i had to use a 10mm spacer on my current 17x9 +20. Please correct me as im probably wrong. Thanks man

Yes, 17x8.5 +20 215/40 works on the front. It will be paper-thin to the suspension, but will work.

On your old wheels a 6mm spacer would have sufficed (although not hubcentric). Just for reference.

Wow, incredible amount of information and data in here. So my deal is I want to run 16's. Will be lowered with HR Sport and Billy's. I want a flush (no poke) and the front and rear to be the same. Also not a fan of stretch tire so need a tire the "fits" the wheel. I would like to hear the wheel size, offset and tire size please. Also, rolling fenders would be OK if needed for that "perfect" looks.

Much thanks for all you do here......

Youll want to wait to here from Mystikal himself, but ive seen a lot of guys run 16x8 and around a +20 offset and sit flush. You could probably even go 16x8 front and 16x9 rear. I would think a 215/xx or 225/xx would fit best.

OK, that is what I thought I was reading, but then saw something about the rear where u can run a lower(?) offset to get away from spacers. I'd like to find a setup that doesn't require spacers and square would be nice for the rotation aspect. Assuming I don't get fancy directional tires like on my VW CC.

Thanks for the reply.

New set of wheels in the works. Im going with the ccws. Im either going 17x9 f 17x10 r or 17x9.5 f and 17x10.5 r. What would be my best tire choices for these options as well as offsets? Ideally im going for low offsets to maximize lip sizes. Another concern is being able to fit bigger brakes at some point which is another thing to keep in mind.

Which would poke more between a 17x10.5 +13 vs a 17x10 +0?

17x9 +10 17x10 +20. 205/40 225/35. You need to contact CCW for brake clearance data.

The 17x10 +0 would poke more by 7mm.

I've been looking for some 14 or 15 Inch low offset rims for a little while for my E30. Recently found a nice set that I would really like to own, 15" 4X100, but the Offset is 32. I know ideal is around 28, but is 32 possible without spacers?

Let me know !! Thanks

Could i squeeze in a 225/40 on a 17x10 in the rear and 215/40 on the 17x9 in the front? I just want the most tire possible to protect the wheels.

And which would be better between a 17x10 +0 vs a 17x10.5 +12? Im trying to max out the lip size to at least 4.5-5" in the rear and no less than 4" in the front.

If you have any suggestions for brakes thatd be awesome too. I plan on swapping in an s52 in the future when my m42 pukes. Hopefully something cost effective. Btw the car is mainly street driven and my dd in nice weather.

Thanks a million. I wouldnt be getting this done without your help .

If the wheel is 8" wide or less they would be best suited with 15mm spacers all around.

Again, you asked this before, 225/40 doesn't exist. The sizes I recommended are what will fit.

Neither of those 17s will fit.

I plan on running camber and rolling the fenders a bit. I guess youre right i could only 225/40 in 16 and 18s. Would one option between the two be a better choice for the rear width, offset and lip size?
