Being over an hour late and not updating the other party to your situation is blatantly ignorant and very disrespectful as it shows a complete disregard for the other person's time.

That's all fine and well if you're the customer meeting with someone who wants to sell YOU something and waste your time being late. Screw them completely agree...I don't think it would be very smart to give a customer "a piece of my mind" for being late if I wanted their business.
The other way around is a little different since the customer has the control. The customer can be flaky if they want, they can tell you to screw off, they can tell you they're not interested, they can be late...if you want it bad enough you'll take it, if you aren't hurting then you move on, if you're both busy you reschedule! You don't whine about it and get your panties in a bunch and try to defame them! That's how it is!
You guys are missing that this is the SELLER who is complaining. Not the customer. Blows my mind.

9stretch9 - sellers beware
No. I never let a "customer" waste my time like that. I'd happily lose a buyer than allow some cretin to take advantage of me just because of some ill-conceived notion that I'm at their mercy because I'm the "seller." I've done it plenty of times in the past: sold a product at a lower price to someone who has some dignity vs. to a doucherocket even though I may have made a couple more bucks.
Whether this thread (calling the flakey person out on it) is warranted or not is another discussion that I frankly don't care to have.

I hope you have more serious problems then crying over a part you couldn't sell.
If you upped the price on me, I would tell you to go fly a kite as well. If you really wanted to sell the part you would Have sold it. What did you really think? He was going to gladly take you on your price inflation because you felt he was wasting your time, that to me was your final nail in the coffin on losing the whole sale completely. If there more more sales oriented ppl in the world like you then nothing would ever get sold.
Why do you keeping bringing up the phrase "I just done work". Are you trying to imply that his weak grammar skills impaired your sale? Grow up, sales is a dog eat dog world.

i get busy and flake on stuff too, however, i find you can help this by being clear with the other party that your meeting is conditional on you calling them an hour or so before you're meeting to confirm where and when you're meeting. everyone can appreciate that someone is busy and might have to change plans, but at least this way neither party is stuck wasting time waiting around.
if you have a problem removing parts for someone who didn't follow through with their purchase, stay out of the used part buisness

It looks like someone needs some time management or how to sell something on a board. How do you waste 4 hours? Did it ever occur to you that you would have wasted that time if he never wanted the part when you met up? .. still the same amount of time wasted
if you want to meet up with someone dont make it to far from your place .. if he wants it he will drive the way .. dont just wait at a location forever waiting on someone.
I wish I can walk into a grocery store or mall on a Saturday or during Christmas and demand money or a discount just because im waiting in line. Shit, everyones time is valuable

Yeah....Lets just say if you call ME, and put ME on hold, 9 out of 10 time i wont be on the other end once you get back to me.
I find putting people on hold disrespectful, and personally never do it with customers, if you call us you have our 100% undivided attention.
