2001 320 start n stall

HI just pick up a 2001 320 I got it to start but idles rough check code said temperature running cold or termostst code erase code now car, wont start start then stall right away like no spark,any idea pls thanks

Make sure there is gas in it.... Could the gauge be broken? Next... check for vacuum leaks - loose/broken hoses around the intake

If not low on gas, likely it's a vacuum leak. Did you not test drive the car before buying?

suspect is cranksensor plugs are wet will get the sensor then dig a bit deeper thanks

are you 100% sure about the gas? My buddy went through this with his 540... runs perfect... then starts running rough.... then doesn't run at all.... gas gauge was bad.

The thermostat controls fuel enrichment. If it is bad it will dump fuel like crazy on start up. Also, E46's have MAP thermostats, they are prone to failure and require replacement. Check the wiring connection to the thermostat it self, and check the temp sensor.

If plugs are really wet from flooding, you may not have any compression. Gas washes oil off the cylinder walls. Check to see if the oil is too full or smells like gas.

ok solve the problem gauge reads 1/4 tank so i put in more gas the it runs perfect pump i going i think thats why the other side of tank have gas while other side is empty thanks for the help guy will do the pump/filter/termostat and valve gasket now looking for side mirror cover does anybody have one laying around and lowering springs thanks
