I think your dead on. BMW did an ok with this m3 but they could of pumped up the hp numbers on this one . The power with twin turbos are endless.

I actually went for a ride in the new M3 this past Tuesday and even with about 20% spy trim I was very impressed with it both from an aesthetics and performance stand point. Worth noting is that I have had an admittedly unfair and unspoken sentiment of animosity towards the car solely due to the whole re-badging/M4 debacle which I refuse to accept. I'm quite relieved that it is so impressive in person and now reserve my mild malevolence for BMW marketing, branding, or whatever division spear headed the whole M4 and brand re-badging initiative.

I can't wait to see something on-line about the first person who replaces the M4 badge with a M3 one lol.

They should off made the m3 the coupe and the m4 the sedan .

I like it quite a bit.

Let's be completely honest, in terms of power the e46 M3 is weak. Not speaking to handling etc but power was missing for all those years imo considering what is was you were paying for.
