ACTIVATING DRL ON 08 328i

I am trying to activate DRL through the cluster, but when I go into it I do not see the DRL symbol

The little SUN looking one shown in picture below
instead it shows me the Turn Signal x3 below the P= one

why?......

Probably because DRLs are mandatory in Canada so having the option to enable/disable it probably wouldn't make sense.

You'll need a special cable, and software to code it into your car.

I believe the left and right are all controlled by the same circuit.

The DRL is a coded feature for the Canadian market, it can not be changed by the operator. The only way this can be done is through coding/adjusting VO.

If it is just one light not working you should check the bulb, the FRM will remove current to a open or shorted bulb.

Don't think the cable and coding tools will help you in this case.

Are you using the standard halogens in your DRL? If you're using aftermarket non-halogens then that might be causing some of the problems.

You are not getting and trouble code for this?? I would think it would set off a code.

ill scan the car again but i didnt see any codes
I just have the left front drl out .light on dash
and i got as far as diag'ing that i have no power on the green wire (i believe - i havent looked at it for a bit)

If i grab power from the other drl (right side) the light turns on but the dash light stays on that its out

i am not sure if i need to get something activated or coded

as a side note i had OEM hid's - one of them was giving me issues so i just bought ones off ebay with the CCFL (i dont care what lights are in it i just want the light to go off the dash and the lights to function properly)

His problem can be fixed. I've repaired many cars that has the same problem. BMW diagnosis is to fully replace the module.
Clients have came to me with cars that have one side angel eyes dead even with replaced new bulbs. It's a 10 min software fix.

This option isn't available on Canadian cars. If you DRL's aren't working then someone hasn't turned them off through coding.

You'll need a L+DCan Cable and NCS Expert to code whatever module you'd like.

Just do it at your own risk. Once after coding, my car failed to start. Immobilizer kicked in for some reason and the only was I got myself out of that was using DIS.

His problem is not just simply coding DRL's to be turned off or on. He has issues with one of his power lines in the FRM module being blocked. Hence there is voltage to one side and the other is disabled. NCS Expert will not solve this issue. Any experienced coder who knows what they are doing, will know that not even flashing the module will fix it. This is something most experienced coders will know.
