Cree LED kits?

I know these aren't really ICE per say but there wasn't an aesthetics forum...

But anyways, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these LED conversion kits I'm looking to use for my angel eyes. Not too familiar with LEDs that come with a ballast?

Have you tried deal extreme.com? You can buy the Cree products there plus driver circuits and other accessories. I bought some 6 w LED from eBay. They were the right color but aren't very bright and one failed after 6 months of light driving...I had a company car that I drive most of the time.

So, I decided to try and retrofit something else into the housings from the failed eBay led. I gave up because it was more work than I thought. Also, its critical to get the placement "just right" or else you lose some brightness.

There is some dude in my neighborhood who drives a silver e39. His halos look awesome. Next time I see it i'm going to follow him home and see what is the setup.

Right now I'm using the original yellow bulbs. I think the rings with embedded LEDs are the most effective.

Are you using those for AE? The eBay post says backup lights. AE are on all the time and they heat up a lot.

Actually, further down in the post mentions DRLs... These look like they would fit the stock bulb sockets. I still think multiple LEDs mounted directly on the rings are the right way

honestly get the LED Rings... I tried the LED bulbs and paid a pretty penny for them, but i didn't like the weak light output, plus the oem angels have a little yellow tint to it, so it didnt give me the color i wanted. If you check post #12 you'll see the picture of the LED bulb vs LED rings... And honestly pictures were taken from my crappy blackberry... It looks alot nicer in person

Update on $1.21 specials.... I just received them today. They are bright as hell... but also super hot!

The second and third pic are the same exposure so you can get an idea how bright.

Now I used a computer power supply that can output 19 v... so I should try this on a car battery instead.
