Oh... I should probably not leaving people hanging here...

I figured it out... almost ashamed to admit it... it was simply the ignition coil, 1 bolt and 2 wires later, I swapped in the one from my track car and everything is fine...

all that for something so simple... Doh!

live and learn...

Oh, I thought you were talking about the ground wires

and, to be fair, it wasn't the ignition wires, it was the ignition coil not feeding the ignition wires

but yeah, I know a couple people have told me to do this... I had a tester and everything, but didn't have another set of eyes to watch for the spark as someone else turned the key...
