The sad truth is that when you are a seller, you asked for more and many times, you see the asking price being lowered and as a buyer, you offer less.; to the extent of lowballing...

The 2 that list for $30,000 and $37,000, I think that is Corvette's territory...I think it will sit for a long while...

There were two M3 coupes for sale this spring, both of which the sellers' bottom dollar was 15k. Both were 6-speed.

Mileage was 115k km on the first, clean title, 2002.
Mileage was 130k km on the second, rebuilt, 2003.

It all depends when you buy and the deal you find. Search all of Ontario when on kijiji.

True. I've been watching prices since last Fall, and for some strange reason E46 M3 asking prices have gone up a steady 3-5K across the market. So weird. I'm more interested in selling prices, as I seriously doubt anyone is paying 20K for an early (01-02) M3 with 150+ km.

Assuming the carproof checks out, that's a great deal. Took me months to find one like that.

More than your M3.

edit: And what does my M5's pricing have to do with the sudden rise in early model, high mileage, uninteresting silver on black E46 M3 prices?

Except this one has one substantial difference

But back to my point, you can find E90 sedans with high (more than 60k) mileage for mid-high 30s. It makes zero sense for a regular black E46 M3 with similar mileage to be asking the same price, despite some cool mods. Pretty wack.

On the other hand, I understand why a LSB vert with a factory matching hardtop in clean condition is asking 20+. It's a genuinely rare version of the E46 M model in above average condition, and can ask for a slight premium. The oddity comes with run of the mill beat up examples asking high teens, approaching $20k.

In any case, this is just for discussion purposes, I personally don't have any vested interest in buying one.

It's just all the boring colours, tired motors, high mileage jokers trying to cash in on well-maintained, low-km, unique, clean examples.

Fair enough. I interpreted your question with a malicious tone considering our post histories. Guess I was wrong.

As you were.

So its just a bitching thread cause you want and can't get right now, just wait and keep looking, I'm sure when you sell a car there will be someone telling you the price is too high, its an open market, just have your cash ready so when one pops up in the condition and price range you can float your ready.

Be happy with what you have and not angry with what you want

lol

the fact is most e46 m3 are beat to shit, so when there is transaction they are on the lower price side.

and with a normal buyer they just want it for cheap, and don't realize a clean e46 m3 are hard to find and demand a higher price compare to higher km/beat to shit m3

fact is, if you want to get into e46 m3, it could be done fairly cheap, just don't expect a clean one. If you do find a clean one for cheap. Props to you

just my 0.2cent

What's with this forum? I almost get banned for commenting a while ago about someones asking price and these 2 guys rant about prices on 2 full pages.
Guess it's all about who you know.
Ps I would not let mine go for any less than 24K even if I wanted to sell it.
Too bad Toronto E46 forum went by the wayside.
