Reputable upholstery shops in GTA

Hi,

I have been trying to search for a good condition cloth seat set in the GTA, and on other forums as well.

I am contemplating getting the seats I have redone, but I need a bit of help. Did you ever deal with a good shop that is reputable and does a good job to redo a seat set in the GTA?

I would like good quality work with reasonable prices as well. If you have any suggestions please help me out.

Thanks

look at spending at least a grand for the fronts and rear to be redone in cloth. Leather the price just keeps going up! you may be able to find kits online for cheaper but then you have to install them.

Nice, in that case I am better off having a complete set shipped over from the US. I can get a full set now for $350, in good condition.

that's used so you're paying "used" prices. Btt you pay for shipping charges/insurance and brokerage fees you'll be into more like 500-600.

Yep, so I'd prob. save a bit of cash. Although it wouldn't be brand spanking new. hmmmmmmm (gotta think this through)

Go with these guys... excellent work and good prices... they will work with you and offer you several options to stay within a set budget if you need that.
they did a pair of front SR5 seats for my Toyota Truck for @$300+tx, very strong custom fabrics showing almost no wear after 4+ yrs of dd.

Black Leather would have been about $600 as I recall.

I recommend TM Custom.

I've been taking my upholstery work to Tony Macri for 14 years now with excellent results. I know others that also have very positives experiences from their work too.

The shop recently moved to Steeles (on the south side) just east of the 400.

Contact: Tony Macri

Tel: (416) 249-7137

Address;
4271 Steeles Ave. West
North York, Ontario
M3N 1V7
Canada

website;
www.tmcustomauto.com

Yes, that's his '58 Vette on the website that he purchased NEW.

TM Custom: NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE!!! Would not recommend!

I recently went to TM to see Tony about sewing a replacement panel for a leather seat (I purchased the leather, made the pattern and cut everything out to make his job easier), he told me their rate is $60/hr cash minimum for any sewing. I left for an hour to get a sandwich, when I returned I saw nothing had been done so he got one of the guys to sew up the panel quickly in about 15 minutes. When it came time to pay, you can imagine my shock when he wanted to be paid $120 for the 15 minutes of work. I understand everyone needs to make a living but not this way. I felt very cheated and that he acted dishonestly. If they're willing to screw someone over for a few bucks on one panel I couldn't imagine their behaviour on a full interior!

These type of guys are no better than the mechanic that over charges and holds your car for ransom. Unless you have a pretty good ongoing relationship with Tony like Maluco above I WOULD STAY AWAY!!!!

yup Macri's shop is very expensive. I know his cousin and he got me his prices and they were no different anywhere else. Sorry but I have to agree with ^^^^
