2001 bmw e46 330ci auto

Do I need an aux fan? I see alot of pics of these without one. I bought mine like this. wasnt sure if the previous owner forgot or damaged it or didnt come with it bcuz its auto.

I know I'm missing the small plastic grill holes, anyone have it?

Check realoem... looks like you should prob have p/n 17111436259 (look under "17 radiator" -> "radiotor" -> "fan shroud")

I would expect the auto needs it more over 5/6 spd since engine under (slightly) greater load at idle. Definitely good to have in stop-and-go in the summer, and (if nothing else) the fan will help protect the rad from stones.
