Angry Please stop making .asf, .asx, .wmv, .wmx (streaming movie files)

Wow haven't been here awhile what have I missed? Anyway on to the topic at hand.

Ok I like to movies you all place on the Internet but I hate that most of them are streaming videos (.wmv, .wmx, .asf, .asx, etc.).
1. These damn things can secretly do things in the background. Simple example you can be viewing a movie and suddenly your default browser opens an unrequested page.*no no*

2. They are a pain in the to play because rewind and fastfoward take so long to process; furthermore, if done to many times you loose.

3. They take to long to play from the beginnin I want the movie to began from the time I press enter, spacebar or whatever.

4. I'm no movie composer so I don't know much about compression and codecs...but I beleive you could get equal quality from a .mpeg2, .mpeg4, .mov, .avi, .mp4 or other.

So could we loose the streams PLEASE.

Yes I agree with you.

I hate this type of format a lot as well, that's why MPEG is the way to go since it's a universal codec for all operating system platforms.

EDIT: At the end of '2.' it was suppose to say loose audio.

Add '5.' Playback is sloppy the videos often skip I would give the reason that the video it playing off the hardderive which is a mechanical object. As we all know machanical objects are slower than nonmechanical ie: Ram.

Add '6.' Not only is playback slow the video can often lag behind the audio.

I'm glade to see somone agrees with me. Thank you for your response! Any others out there that dislike these formats. Come on don't be afraid to speak out, hell add your own dislikes to the list that I've already started.
