I know the black is hard to maintain... but damn dude it looks effing slick when it's freshly cleaned, the black kidneys are a nice touch too. Pretty jealous you got one with a sunroof... I know the 320's are a bit light on equipment but that's the one option I really wish I had. Either way your car is looking pretty sweet. I usually hit up a coin car wash but I'll keep your advice in mind about touchless if I end up taking it to an auto car wash.

I haven't really tried punching it 5-6 times when idling, I'll give it a shot and let you know. I did just have my camshaft sensor replaced because I got a code and also it was idling a bit high from time to time... if you have that issue too then it might be the cps. As far as regular acceleration I don't get any hesitation, it's just a bit lazy from 0-40km/hr. High speeds are where this car really shines, getting on the highway is a blast and going from 110 to 140 is a breeze. She'll definitely holds a corner like no other car I've driven, for stock suspension I'm pretty impressed. I'd love to get up to 170 km/hr but my driving record won't allow for that (... license suspended a few years back and learned my lesson the hard way, took awhile for the insurance to come back down). If only we had zee autobahn...

One more question... what kind of mileage do you get? Mine has been a bit varied depending on my driving style but I'm also wondering how it compares to the auto.

Thanks again for the pics, it's hard to find other 320ers around... yours is definitely looking proper!

Hey.Thank you. I like the kidney's too so many don't. I drive mostly in the city and usually get about 500-20km per tank.I take a trip every yr to see my brother in Fraser Lake 900km from home and I can go 717km with 7 litres litres still left in tank, (Van- Prince George).Driving at 110kmh, so I think that is about 35 mpg?? I was really amazed the first time I drove it there, highway seems great. I'm curious about the diff in milage as well. No sunroof, one less thing to fix when it breaks and leaks.

Ya dude those black kidneys are looking sick, I've always had a thing for black bimmers... I was pretty close to buying a black 1995 E34 540i but it was 4hrs away and I said screw it. I noticed you blacked out the badging at the back, at first I thought you'd just debadged it.

I had a feeling I could go 700kms+ but he hiighest I've gotten to is around 680 kms/tank (with about 5L in the tank). I've done some 150-200kms trips at about 115kmh on the cruise and I'll barely use up a quarter tank, the mileage on this car has really surprised me. On average though I'll get between 550-600/tank and that's with 400 km on the hwy, so around 8-9L/100km.

Funny what you said about the sunroof... that's exactly what my mechanic said too!

Hey Bforte. Seems like our fuel economy is similar, and you have almost double the kms I have. Just goes to show you how well these cars are engineered, minus all the cheap plastic parts. HAHA. I got those badges at Bimmian a few yrs ago, now you can just plast-dip em. If you want, keep posting any mods, repairs etc and I will do the same.

I agree, this car feels like it could easily last another 200K if maintained.

Definitely keep me posted on any mods or repairs you'll be doing... had my first touchless car wash yesterday

Have 320i ever come with a sport package, like suspension, seats and the 3 spoke sheering wheel?

I don' think so. They were intoduced as a entry level bimmer (cheaper ) U could probably factory build one from dealer, but why.

pocojo68 is right, the 320i was meant to be a bare bones bimmer... you could prob find a 320i someone has put an M-tech package on, but again why not just buy a E46 328 or 330 for the same price?

Whadda ya think? I just wrapped my door pillars with 3m gloss wrap.I think it turned out pretty good. I got sick and tired of trying to clean them.

Nice... gives a metallic finish to the pillars, definitely more shine. Any other mods in mind before summer is over?

Still can't believe the mileage I'm getting with this car... just filled up last night and drove 280kms today (day trip for work), got back home with 3/4 of tank left.

Thanks. It is shiny, thinking satin black might look more original, maybe next time. I'd like to do more mods but I'm saving for cooling and suspension refresh next year. Today in Crappy Tire I found this WIPE NEW, that stuff on TV. I figured what the hell only 20 bucks, well it seems to do what they claim, I'm impressed so far. It's easy to apply just wipe on. Here are some pics. Does a good job on the bumper trim. That is good to hear about your mileage.

I did say you could order one with whatever you wanted in it, not saying they didn't make any. As I stated before they were a entry level car, so why not buy 325/328 for probably around the same after you start adding extras for a 320.

Too bad BMW never imported 320i as a coupe.
