That's how the car came. Perhaps it came with the comfort interior.
Can anyone shed more light on this?

Also, the car is being professionally detailed today, and the rims are also being refinished this week.
When it's all done ill take some better pictures.
I have a ton of pic on my comp I can send if anyone would like.

Post some pictures of interior and i can tell you which interior it is.
If it is two tone, it is for sure the sport one, and because you have sunshades, unless your car is individual like mine, I can pretty much tell you that you have sport interior.
The chrome trim was a choice/option iirc and it is also really easy to change should the owner want to.

Whhaaaaaa??You have a ****ed up combo of interior like me!! Heritage leather seats without the extended leather package AND sunshades~!! No Individual sticker like I have though!
That definitely makes your car more desirable as the Heritage leather seats are thicker buffalo leather and are softer/nicer to the touch compared to the sport seats.
Please leatherique your interior ASAP, it will renew it like you wouldn't believe!

Thanks for the info, I will do that to the interior!!
So being such an oddball M5, there is still very little interest. Maybe I should just hold onto it for the time being.

Throw up as detailed a listing as you can muster. Post it on M5board, Bimmerforums, Autotrader, Kijiji - everywhere. I sold my E46 on E46Fanatics, which is primarily a US-based enthusiast community. Just make a note that it's a Canadian sale before the price police on US forums jumps at you.

It will sell eventually, seems to be a very nice example of an unmolested E39. They're getting tough to find.

I'm interested by the interior makes me pause. If it was darker trim or a different exterior colour I'd be calling you

Interior trim is an easy swap. If you really wanted this car, a simple and relatively inexpensive trim change wouldn't stop you.

I'd have to find the bits first unless I take the black trim out of my 540. Even then, the "wood" is hard to take out without cracking. Hmm...

Unless the 540 has navigation, it wouldn't fit. Cracking is irrelevant as wood trim isn't exactly in demand on the used parts market for the E39 crowd; it would either collect dust in the basement or be throw out. A set of black/aluminum/titanium trim is probably $500 or so on eBay or a bit more at online suppliers for new ones. More importantly, a $500 expense shouldn't be such a determining factor when shopping for an E39 M5. If it is, then you shouldn't be looking at one in the first place. That's not a personal jab at you, I'm just stating reality. Some people try to buy these on the low end of the spectrum only to find themselves complaining when an expense comes up.

If I haven't already dropped $6000 this year in maintenance (just about everything done at this point), I'd be all over this. On that note, if Bryan wasn't outside doing a full detail package right now, I'd be all over it as well.

I've gotten as far as asking for the address so who knows, I might impulse buy (fully knowing the money pit factor).

Well there's a game changer: $6k in maintenance is a lot to throw away if you buy another car. I kinda did something similar with my E46 last summer. Big mistake investing all that and then dumping it for pennies on the dollar just a few months later. Oh well, less learned.

Sending you a PM RE: detailing.

Anyways, enough threadjack. I hope OP sells this car soon, it looks great.
