Trunk is slotted for the wing- just have to remove the airfoil (4 bolts) every time I want to take the lid off. It's not bad though because I can access pretty much the whole area from the rear doors... Not that there's anything in there anyway.

Also fabbed a bracket to support the back of the splitter, so that's almost ready to go too:

Such a nice day:

Bought some sweet wire crimpers and was able to mount my support wire.

I also added a shim under the bumper to help angle the spoiler more towards the ground.

I installed it on the car and it was able to take my weight without breaking. Should be solid on track

That's it for today!

Gonna be some awesome competition! I hate to say it, but Imma be cheering for the E30 just cause E30.

But seriously, these beasts you two have built are bad ass. I'm gonna be at some of the auto-X events this year, you still going to them or just the bigger tracks (with enough speed for aero)? I'm not doing anything serious, just a awesome way to legally beat on the car a bit!

Thanks Jay

We're both pretty proud of what we've accomplished in our limited time doing this.

Chris and I are planning on doing mostly track. We may hit 1 or 2 autoX during the summer, but it's not looking likely - between following the CTCC schedule with 8-Legs + our own racing, it's going to be another hectic summer!

Got a lot done this weekend:

Modded & installed shifter ( ran out of rivets so I used self tappers in the meantime)

Then got the flex disk and driveshaft in.

Installed my window net:

Got the race springs in:

Started prepping & priming my wheels, to get ready for new rubber:

Right on man, good work! I am curious to see what you think of those NT01s. I ran a set of those on my old E30, and they wore out fast! I also had a tread splicing issue with one of them

Honestly I'm really excited/anxious because this is the first time I run new rubber on track. I'm hoping they last me all season (6 races + 2 to 3 lapping days), but we'll see what happens. The car is light, the tires are big so I'm hoping they don't heat cycle/wear to quickly.

Rudy what size were you running on your e30?

I know Chris had NT01s but was running too little camber so they wore pretty quick, and Jamie had 225s so they wore relatively quick too...

haha thx that's not going to be the final colour though - just the primer

They're going to be red once i'm done. You know, to match the theme of the car.

Haha nice! I was gonna say red... all makes sense now! I like the new look! How about red on the mirror caps and wing end plates?

The NT01s I used were 205/50/15s. I think I only got three lapping days, and a few autoxs out of them. I used them on the street too, but I used RA1s the same way for a few years before that, and they lasted a lot longer.

Cool. Yeah I'm hoping since mine are so big they'll last a bit longer. Fingers crossed.

So the wheels are now red (well, 2 of them at least)!

Oh and I finally have interior door handles (wire across the middle of the door):

I think that's going to be pretty much it for the week. Chris and I rented a ride and will be driving at the chumpcar race at Watkin's glen this weekend

Awesome! WGI is a wicked track ... it's fast like Mosport, but it's way longer! Great fun. Enjoy and make sure you get the entry to the boot right
