1998 328i driveshaft ( U-Joints )

Quick question. I have a 1998 328i manual and the u-joint ( rear ) is getting a little sloppy and I found a place that claims they can fix if the yoke is good ( yes ). Cost is $355 but some people are telling me it is not possible and best to buy a good used one or new. The company tells me they grind off the joint, repair and weld on washer to fix plus high speed balance. I looked for used but all I could find is in the states and new is expensive. The car has 310 RWHP so I would like it done right.
Thanks for any help.
First time so I hope I posted right.

Ummm why go through the trouble when you can pick up a used M3 driveshaft for what, $100-150? Come to Ontario, there's a few parts dealers.
