Lisa Simpson: You won a Grammy.
Homer Simpson: I mean an award that's worth something.

Started from the bottom in Forest hill!

I agree with v_bimmer, whatever happened to Biggie, Big Pun, Puff Daddy, etc who actually did start from the bottom and lived through real problems in the 90's

Maybe the bottom he's referring to is not socioeconomic. He could be referring to the fact that he started as a corny teen drama crossover star (see Will Smith) who managed to secure a large portion of legitimate hip hop fan market in his camp (unlike Will Smith). Like Rick Ross, his popularity grows despite what most would think is a crippling resume. Pun intended.

Now he has more #1 rap singles than anyone in history. Jay-Z, Eminem, 50 Cent, Kanye, Wayne, anyone. That's pretty incredible for someone whose music career is essentially 4 years old.

Just providing another perspective. Continue on.

Finally, someone gets it.

Interesting to see how people constantly associate the bottom with being monetarily deficient. There are other forms of being at the proverbial bottom that could be argued as being equally as significant.
