this could be an alternator issue. check the voltage on the battery, make sure it reads over 13 with lights on. if its lower, Id replace the alternator voltage regulator before anything else..

this should help and explain more:

the battery is putting out over 13v when its running with the lights, but when i hit 3000rpm, it drops to 11.3v and thats when the battery light goes on, if i let off the throttle it goes back up to 13.8v...should i just replace the alternator??

thanks for your reply
