Because people are afraid of 4.4 litre V8's and the associated gas that goes with it

Yet when cruising... E38 has less L/100km than anything else in my garage:

GT-R with 2.6L RB26
S2000 with 2.2L F22C

or even E30 2.5

With hard driving i get 12.8L/100...My friend gets 11.5 on a 525it. Both cars have same milage, and travel the same road everyday.

For that 1 extra liter, the V8 is well worth it!!!

You know what, I have NEVER looked at the mileage I get on my E38.

I fill, pay, drive and enjoy!

For us enthusiasts, 2 things that should never matter, the price of fuel and the price of insurance, because you gotta Pay to Play

I hate hearing about how gas is like $1.30 a litre of whatever... yeah for your shitbox beige Corolla, I've been paying more than that for premium since 2006 - so STFU.

I'm amazed that I can cruise at 120 kph and register 7.9 L/100 on the computer. In the city that jumps to 14 L/100. There's no replacement for displacement

Only junk falling apart 740s can be had for dirt cheap. Clean, low mileage, well maintained with service records are still selling at arm and leg prices!

*sigh*the funny things people say to themselves

being complacent with it doesnt make the current insurance situation in this province(which is wayyyyyyy out of control) and the higher gas prices ok.

Ive been buying premium since forever too but that doesnt mean I am ok with it....being an enthusiast doesnt mean one shouldnt care about overall operating costs. thats asinine.

and the computer is always optimistic with mpg readings. The only way to truly know is by manual calculation.

That is your opinion, and you are entitled to it.

But I stick by what I said, I could care less what my insurance or fuel costs.
