LIcense Plate Light Assembly - Corrosion

Hi All,

I just realized that my license plate light holders were corroded to the point where I can no longer place a bulb anymore.

Do you guys just replace the entire assembly? Or can I just buy a metal piece and solder to the remaining contact?

Also how do you remove the assembly? I removed the four torx, but wasnt sure about the harness, can i just pull it out or should it be on the inside of the trunk (after removing carpet lining) ?

Thanks.
