Anyone get the new mto emissions done for their e30?
Looks like its just an idle and 2,500rpm curb exhaust test.
I'm good till 2014 but just wondering if anyone has done it yet.

I may be totally mistaken about this, but my understanding is that the new test only applies to cars 7 years and younger. Therefore E30s will have the same test as they always did...so yes, idle and 2500 rpm.

Reason: my spelling is defintely mistaken, however.

Just a tad wrong.. I had to test my car by sept/12 and the test was a full dyno emissions test (just barely passed) This new testing system started jan/13.

As far as the website says, you only need the tailpipe test...
http://www.ene.gov.on.ca/environment...OD_102286.html
"Drive Clean will continue to use a tailpipe test for light-duty vehicles from 1988 to 1997 model years"
Not sure why they put you on a dyno. I did mine last year too and they just stuck the probe in the pipe and revved it while stationary.

I just had mine done in January, didn't watch them do it but the tech told me they use the obd connector & look for emissions monitoring sensors. I passed no problems. I also here that if there are any emissions related faults stored in the dme you will fail.

The plug in test is only for OBD-II cars. 1988+ E30's get a 2 speed idle sniffer test. Really nothing has changed for our cars except now there is no load on the engine for the test.

Pre-obdII cars only get the idle/sniffer test, which is easier to pass than the old rolling/dyno load test.

Should be easy to tune for a no load 2 speed idle test.
Looks like after my build ill do an "emissions" tune
