Hello fellow R hill M5 owner!
For leather car, I swear by leatherique products. I've been buying it for a couple of years now and OMG, unbeatable (IMO at least). There is a 2 stage (rejuvenator and cleaner) combo that works magic on drying or fading leather. I order from the guy in Niagara falls, great guy and the stuff comes fast!

As far as carpets, I've just paid a detailing shop 3-40$ to just clean them up with a wet vac, but I just bought a wet shop vac so will be using that from now on.

for general leather cleaning, ive been using Sonax Leather Foam. it is great stuff.
If your looking for protection for your leather and carpets, look to CarPro's Fabric and Leather Coat...amazing stuff.

you can restore the softness to the leather and then dye it if you like. they also carry dying products. lots of elbow grease though. :-)

^^ Excellent DIY,
exactly the steps you need to take.
Make sure you also rub into the area with stitches, that way the threads don't dry out and rip.

I know this is an older thread, but I gotta put in another plug for Leatherique!
I couldn't believe the results on a used leather interior I bought. The leather came right back to life and looks amazing!
