which is your favourite 7 Series?

If you had an opportunity to purchase one of these in fairly good condition and had the chioce between E32, E38 or E65, which one would you choose and why?

don't know why. Or just too lazy to explain.

+1 E38 all the way. It's the only one of those three that holds much visual appeal. The E32's proportions never quite worked for me -- wheelbase too long relative to the size of the wheel arches, or something like that. The SWB E38 makes a powerful statement with spare lines and brawny proportions.

The E65 is mess.

+1. Always getting compliments on my e38. Clean and sophistiated. Wife loved it when she saw it in a showroom in 2000 and gushed when I made it a reality in 2002.

my vote is also for the E38, almost bought one years ago, but decided I didn't need such a large vehicle so I picked up a E39 instead.

Seems like most of the crowd including myself prefers the timeless and sophisticated character of the E38. I had two (95&97) 740is that I sold two years ago because I wanted to get something newer and went throught 8+ cars including 5 E36s, 2 E46s and an E39 540; still wan't satisfied! I wanted to get another 7 and looked at numerous 745/750 and these cars were pure crap in terms of quality/craftsmanship so I hunted for a CLEAN 9+/10 E38 and believe me it was the hardest thing to do. After 8 months of long search I found a CLEAN 01 740il and now I am finally satisfied!

E38. More specifically, an Imola Red 740i Sport.

I used to be massively in love with the e38, but I find it looks dated now. The e36 still holds a special place in my heart though.

I would get the facelifted E65 over the e38. Then again it's the car I would never daily drive for the fear of something going wrong on it.
