Mystery Fluid?

So the other day i started noticing a two small patches of fluid leaks. Viewing the vehicle from the front (this will be my reference view) the leaks are about 6 to 8" from the front bumper - , the leaks can be seen without having to crouch.

I then placed two pieces of paper to get an idea of the colour and then determine the type of fluid that was leaking, The pages were placed just infront of the middle line of the front wheels.

The paper on the right (slightly towards driver side) had red fluid - which i can only assume is power steering fluid. I hope its something small like a hose or something. Will get it checked out. While im still on ps fluid - what brand should i get to top up? Is it only available at dealer?

The paper on the left (slightly towards the passenger side) was brown - i initially thought it was oil, but it seemed too watery - and had no real smell. I thought brake fluid, but the brake fluid levels havent dropped. Same thing with the coolant level - hasnt dropped. The only remaining fluid i could think of was transmission fluid? I initially dismissed this - because the location of the leak relative to the actual gearbox.

Only thing im sure of is that the fluid leak is from the engine compartment and falls down onto the splash guard and trickles through one of the holes. No visible leaks can be seen from the engine compartment.

I doubt its dirt mixed with a clear fluid

Any ideas?

I want to remove the splash guard to take a better look, what tools do i need for that?

Whoops : sorry for the big pics.
