ya i missed having my 90' 520i for my daily, it gave some excitment to driving round! driving my caddy, it was comfy but boring. had to take corners pretty slow, and well it was front wheel drive, winters not as much fun that way

I have a question if anyone can answer!!
does the icv on the m50 pull air from the non vacume intake boot?
if so does this mean that the hose going to the intake boot can be moved to pull air from the engine bay?
i would of course fit a filter on the end of the hose but the idea for me is that i want to try and have no hoses attachted to the boosted intake piping so that it is a direct flow to the throttle plate without any chance of boost leak

Gunna answer ma own question... nooo i cant do the above becaue it would be pulling in unmeasured air lol.... simple answer that i over looked.
on the other hand, just did a little bit of work, removed the old stock injectors and replaced them for the #42 injjectors...
20130129_122446.jpg
then i fitted a filter on the end of that hose there.... i forget the name... umm.. crankcase ventilation or something rather....
20130129_122504.jpg
i also removed the rear struts so i can install the new megan coil overs when they arrive
rear struts removed (3).jpg
I will be putting my barely used h&r and bilsteins in my new 91' 520i

91' 520i (12).jpg
just cuz you own a bimmer doesnt mean you know how to drive it!!, previous owner damaged it

I would re-consider just putting a filter on there. What you should really do is run a air/oil separator and a catch can, with the air going back into the intake, or have the catch can filtered - however, see below...
Your car is going to be street legal right? Well the way you have it set up right now is illegal. You aren't allowed to have any crankcase fumes vented to atmosphere. If you ever get pulled over by the cops/MTO, you could face some serious fines.
I suggest you do something like I mentioned above - run an oil catch can, and then send the air back into the intake. I set up my catch can so that it drains back into my oil pan so I never have to empty it.
Keep up the good work

You have an M50 right? Why not just run it with the stock setup?
Otherwise, yeah- that looks about right!

Why can't you use the stock oil separator setup? Use the OEM separator or another one, vent the air into the intake and the oil back into the dipstick or catch can as was mentioned? Easiest and care-free
