2002tii Would BMW bring it back?

Not sure if this has been mentioned on the site. Bring back the 2002 model design with all the new technology as an entry level BMW, instead of the 100 series. BMW did the Mini why not the 2002? Was a great little rally car in its day, great all around view from the inside (tons of windows), nice four speed, would be not bad for the gas mileage, very cool design( I believe) but it would be in direct competition with the mini. Any thoughts?
