1997 E39 540i for Parts Only
Posting this for my uncle.
A relative got a $2500+ quote from the dealer to fix some timing chain / misfire /watever issues. The car starts and runs, but has a misfire. With 397,554 kms the owner wasn't willing to fix it. For an almost 400k car, it doesn't look to bad, the interior didn't show it. It was an older gentlemen that drove it. It was dealer serviced some of it's life, I think the cooling system was replaced there and looks like it was maintained well up until the misfire issues that he wasn't willing to fix. He left it at my uncles shop and took his wheels and a few other parts he wanted.
Looking for $500 and you have to bring your own wheels and tow it away or it's going to the scrap. Not willing to part out atm. PM if you are interested in easy to remove parts, otherwise no part outs.
The details:
1997 540i - Automatic
Runs (Boost required, bad battery), but misfires and also knocks at start up but quiets down after it warms up a bit. It drove to the shop under it's own power.
I pulled the codes when I had it running, and it only had random misfire codes, which could have been from the battery or alt being bad and barely getting enough voltage to run.
Black on Black, decent interior, all door panels in good shape.
397k on the clock
Crack free wind-shield
Rust on trunk lid and rear quarters
Missing Parts:
Wheels
Fog Lights (Shown in pics, but will be removed)
Tail lights (Shown in pics, but will be removed)
MAF Sensor (Shown in pics, but will be removed)
Floor Mats
A few climate control buttons
Windshield washer nozzles are also gone
Located in King City (Keele St. & King Rd)

Sorry, In my rush I forgot to take pictures of the interior when I was there. It was heated powered, non sport seats, black leather in good shape with no rips. I won't be going there again anytime soon (I don't live close by), so your best option would be to go see the car or take my word for it.
