This taken from tunermotorsport.com
"Replacement oil filter kit for many 6 cylinder BMWs (see list below). Fits M50, S50, S52 (US) engines which have the aluminum cap on the oil filter housing. This filter is sometimes also listed as BMW part# 11 42 7 833 769 (11427833769). "
Not sure why it would fit S52, but not M52.
If anyone can chime in, would be greatly appreciated.

No fill not fit M52 or 1996+ S52. Was looking for oil filter for my 328 not too long ago and learned that they are different from 325's.
