Exterior Door linkage Disconnect

My exterior passenger door linkage has become disconnected. The interior handle works fine and the locking mechanism works as well. Does the linkage usually break when this happens or can it slip off?

I am wondering if I need to order parts before stripping her down.

Thanks

For this you can find simple diys online to help fix this issue without spending a lot of money on a new part, all you need is time some simple tools and a couple zip ties, it'll never break again!
