i think there is a misunderstanding lol, the hose on mine is on the underside of the manofold, but i used the idea of using wire, and it seems to work fine, i cant realy boost to much around the back streeeeets, as i piss off the neighbourhood with my loud exhaust, well thee is no exhaust haha sooo u get the idea

I'm still unpacking and moving things, no 220v in the garage yet so no welder yet. Working on it though!

sooo i have a crazy idea that would be sooo perfect to doooo!! below i have an edited pic of a e34 strut housing. my idea is to make home made adjustable coil overs i guess....
my idea is to remove the part cirlcled in green... coil bed i guess... then to extend the treads from the strut insert cap further down the strut housing.... the red scribles lol... then i could thread a large pipe on the inside matching the strut insert cap threads and weld the outside of it to the inside of the coil bed..... that would be the yellow section on the inside of the coil bed... allowing the coil bed to be fully adjustable!! and alowing your rid hieght tooooo beeeeeeeee fuuuuuuuuuuuullly adjuuuuuustabllllllllllleeeeee!

Please put in ur too cents!!!

That thread is something like M48x1.5 and was most likely cut on a lathe before the tube was welded to the spindle. The only way for you to extend the thread would be to buy a die and do it by hand. If I had to guess, I'd say an M48x1.5 die would cost somewhere in the range of $300-$500 and for that money you can buy a conversion kit.

It is a neat idea. The only other thing that crosses my mind a potential issue is that by threading the inside of the tube (while the outside is threaded) the amount of material between the roots of the threads might get too thin. For example, if the wall thickness of the tube is 3mm and both threads are cutting roughly 1.5mm deep you'll be in trouble.

on the subject of tuning.. you or anyone ever hear of the WAR CHIP for bmw's? aparently you can run/store 4 different tunes on it? that would be nice, could run a colder temps Spring Fall tune, a 30c+ tune, a race tune.
theres also piggy back systems too. I originally started with factory every thing with just a SDS fuel management system: it had a map sensor to detect boost & two extra injectors that added extra fuel directly into the intake air - ran great- even with a cracked turbo exhaust mani, well until the stock HG with 245Km's on it blew up

WAR chips are all the rage in the E30 24V swap world. I've heard nothing but good about them.

For a turbo, a WAR chip is a piece of shit. You're still tuning an AFM that at best doesn't handle boost well. So you need a MAF conversion, and people have all sorts of trouble with the Miller MAF conversion, and you're up into serious $.
Tuning the WAR chip isn't a simple matter, in fact it's quite difficult as Barrie will attest.
Just buy a DIYautotune pnp megasquirt. Loads of support, been done hundreds of time, Matt Cramer will supply help where needed. No weirdness, just smart, straight-forward tuning.
