Tire Pressure

Hi guys

I did some searching around and can't find a clear answer. I have a BMW 2008 328i Convertible (E93). The stock tires are 225/45/R17. I replaced them with 215/50/R17 for winter tires (Toyo Observe Garit KX). What I'm trying to figure out is the recommended tire pressure for these wheels on my car. The manual shows a variety of different sizes and recommendations, but nothing with 215 (most are 225 or 205).

The tires say 50psi max on them and I currently have them at 45psi all round. The reason I went so high is cause they looked low otherwise.

Any suggestions? Your help is appreciated.

add 4psi to what the stock 225 tire pressures are for the winter, that's what dealers do.

As a general rule of thumb I like 35, not hard and not soft, nice good medium. Of course it's all up to feel for the driver, some insist on a firmer 40+psi.

You may also find tire wear differs at 35 vs 40 or more. That would take time to figure out and miles so... best to spend a week at 35 and then at 40 and see if you can tell any difference.
